The idea

The idea stems from something far less theoretical than a teaching method: playing blitz with friends. The problem was that we always ended up playing the same openings, those from our own repertoire, game after game. Predictable, and after a while, less fun too.

The solution was a deck of cards with dozens of different openings: instead of choosing what to play, you draw a card and play that. It completely changed the way we play blitz among friends, making it much more unpredictable and fun.

From there, the idea was born to extend the same principle to other phases of the game: gambits, middlegame positions, endgames, tactical puzzles. For each deck, you draw and play, in training or simply for fun among friends.

A complete series

Chess Decks was created as a series designed to grow over time. Today, the Openings and Gambits decks are available. Middlegames, Endgames, and Puzzles will be arriving soon, completing the journey to a total of five decks.

And it doesn't end there: the idea is to also create decks dedicated to individual openings, for those who want to delve deeper into a specific line, from the Sicilian to the Giuoco Piano. The more the series grows, the more ways there are to make every game different from the last.

Take a deck, draw a card, and find out what you'll be playing this time.
